Weekly Catch-Up: 10/15/24

A new feature for paid subscribers!

If you’re a new subscriber or new to following me, you may not know I used to have a weekly podcast! My podcast featured a variety of segments, including a weekly catch-up where I’d share what was going on behind the scenes + recs & reviews for things I had read, watched or listened to in the past week. While I truthfully did not enjoy most of the work that went into creating, recording and editing a podcast (it’s a lot - I have mad respect for solo podcasters who don’t have a producer or team helping them!!), I did enjoy catching up with my listeners and connecting in that way. And while I loved sharing more with my listeners, having some of that info (like all the details of my egg freezing journey) in a public domain had me feeling a little too exposed… so I ended up shutting down my podcast.

Last fall, I decided to launch an Instagram subscription. The main focus of it was to bring back that element of the podcast for those who missed it, but in a way that made me more comfortable sharing. Over the last several months I’ve received feedback that many of you would prefer it to be audio-only, as you’d like to be able to use other apps or be doing other things simultaneously while listening to my catch-ups. Luckily, it’s not difficult to extract audio from video files, so going forward I’m going to offer that here for paid Substack subscribers. I certainly don’t expect people to pay for both subscriptions, so feel free to cancel your Instagram subscription if you’d prefer to listen here as opposed to watch the catch-up there!

One big benefit to doing the audio catch-ups here versus as videos on Instagram, is I can share photos and include a list of what was mentioned all in one place! It’ll be easy for you to refer back to and will add some color to my recaps, especially for those of you who aren’t on IG as much. Keep scroll down for some highlights!

I may eventually bring more audio content back to life with Substack, but for now I’m starting with my weekly catch-up. Since this is the first time I’m sending it out here, this week’s is public - but going forward, this newsletter will be sent to paid subscribers only!

PS: I apologize for the audio quality this week! I just ordered a new bluetooth microphone which should help with the sound going forward.

This week’s catch-up is free, but to receive future catch-ups directly to your inbox, consider becoming a paid subscriber!
