THINGS I ORDERED, KEPT & RETURNED THIS WEEK
Before I knew a Shopbop sale was even happening, I placed an order to try some new staples I’d been eyeing! Keep scrolling to see which items I’m keeping from the order…
This utility miniskirt was on final sale for under $100! It’s a deep olive shade which will be a useful transitional neutral as I take my wardrobe from summer into fall. There were very few sizes left and I took a risk ordering the 2, but luckily it worked out! It is on the shorter side, but the asymmetrical wrap piece in front comes down lower than the rest of the skirt (which I appreciate). There are more sizes available at full price here! Also interesting to see how Shopbop and Apiece Apart styled it differently.
I’m so excited about these barrel leg cargo pants! They’re a new style from Apiece Apart, which is a label I have several pairs of pants from and love. These feature an elasticized section in the back, making them a comfortable everyday option! I ordered the 2 and 4, and kept the 2. These are not on sale, but a solid casual staple to invest in! The cami I’m wearing is Banana Republic - I’m in the XS.
It seems like I pick up a new jean jacket style every year - I continue to wear styles from previous (like this Khaite jacket I bought in 2023 and this Anine Bing jacket I bought last year), but considering how useful they tend to be I like having a variety of silhouettes to choose from… especially in a city like New York where layers have become essential for me! I love the slightly darker wash of this jacket and the fact that there are no visible buttons down the front of the jacket. This will make it easy to style with a variety of jewelry and bag hardware! Length wise, it’s pretty standard - my Khaite jacket is cropped and the Anine Bing is long, so this is the perfect middle ground option. It just so happens to be included in the Shopbop sale this week! Get an extra 30% off the sale price with code EXTRA30 at checkout. I’m in the small!
Last but not least is this SUPER soft cropped cardigan! Not exactly something I’ll be wearing in this heat wave, but a useful basic most months out of the year in New York. Would be super cut with a skirt and Mary Jane flats too! I’m in the small.
And in terms of things I returned…
I loved the look of this Lioness shirt - I ordered it in the dark and light wash. It’s a great dupe for Attico’s denim shirt! Unfortunately I felt like the denim was too heavy/stiff to wear comfortably.
I ordered this belt and this belt to try - I’m always on the hunt for new styles! I’m returning the latter as it’s thinner than most of my jean belt loops. I don’t love that look! I’d prefer the belt to take up more space under the loops.
