This month is a bittersweet one for my family. Today would have been my dad’s birthday, and April 14th is the day we lost him back in 2006. I didn’t plan it this way, but I’m so grateful for my whirlwind trip to Dallas earlier this week! It was just what I needed going into those two depressing reminders - I got to spend some time (albeit brief) with some of my dearest friends and enjoyed some retail therapy as well. I’m planning to spend the second half of the year in New York, with a side trip to California most of August, so I’m not sure when I’ll be back in Dallas… so a visit was definitely needed while I’m still in Austin!
