INDUSTRY NEWS
Unless you’ve been living under a rock you probably heard the news that Anna Wintour is stepping down as editor in chief of American Vogue. While many seemed shocked by the announcement, she’s not actually retiring or leaving Vogue! She’ll still be Vogue’s global editorial director and the chief content officer for Condé Nast. A new head of editorial content will manage the day-to-day operations of American Vogue! This change is likely part of a larger shift in Condé Nast’s global strategy to keep up with the changing times. As it stands, there won’t ever be another editor in chief of the magazine so I guess this means The Devil Wears Prada “era” is officially over (the same week the sequel started filming!)
COOKING
I just learned about the “6-to-1” grocery shopping method and I might be a convert! It’s a strategy designed to help you grocery shop smarter and maximize the number of meals you can make! While I love a casual stroll through the grocery store picking up whatever piques my interest, there’s nothing more annoying than getting home and realizing you spent $100 but have no real meals! One tip I really liked was to emphasize sauces in your recipe planning because they can really transform ingredients. For example, one protein (like chicken) can become three entirely different meals with a sweet chili sauce, a barbecue sauce, or a spicy honey mustard sauce!
FASHION
Has fashion reached a tipping point of being too cute? I swear, overnight everyone started talking about Labubus, bag charms, and all things Y2K. Pretty much the opposite of the “quiet luxury” we were talking about last year! I find it fascinating that at a time when tweens are obsessed with adult skincare routines, adults are reverting back to childlike products. Of course as with all trends, I say stick with what feels authentic to you! Safe to say you will never catch me with a Labubu swinging from my bag!

TRAVEL
If you’ve felt your flight anxiety spike over the past few months, this article is for you! The author embarks upon a British Airways “Flying With Confidence” course and shares her experience, her history with flight anxiety, and the helpful coping tips she learns along the way. One of the most interesting tidbits she shares is to try and isolate your specific fear when it comes to flying — like agoraphobia, claustrophobia, or basophobia (fear of falling). Even if you aren’t a nervous flyer it’s a fascinating read with good advice on managing anxiety in all sorts of situations!
MENTAL HEALTH
I thought this was a really beautiful read on learning to love your body, especially in the summer. The author explores the idea of being disembodied (the idea that the mind and body are separate) vs. being embodied (the experience of being a body rather than having a body) and reflects on accepting the idea that “our bodies are living things who are entitled to change, strengthen, soften, expand, and spill out as evidence of a life lived.” If you’re feeling anxious about bathing suit season, this is just the pep talk you need!
