Weekend reading list: 10.10.25
And a roundup of exquisite styles in shades of grey for fall/winter!
FASHION
It’s been a whirlwind few weeks for fashion! If you haven’t been keeping up, New York Fashion Week, London Fashion Week, Milan Fashion Week, and Paris Fashion Week have all occurred over the past four weeks with some important takeaways for Spring/Summer 2026! Some notable highlights include Matthieu Blazy’s debut for Chanel (that galaxy set was incredible!), Pierpaolo Piccioli’s debut for Balenciaga (with Meghan Markle in the audience!), Laura Dern opening for Gabriela Hearst, and Jonathan Anderson’s first women’s ready-to-wear collection for Dior. Also spotted lots of puffed sleeves, voluminous skirts, exaggerated ruffles, and details that really make an entrance so spring should be fun!
CELEBRITY
So fun to see Ayo Edebiri on the Vogue November cover! Her interview is full of grounded ambition, thoughtful reflection, and zero pretension in her classic style. She talks about genre fluidity in her projects and what success really means to her. I had no idea she broke into the industry as a production assistant and writer before her breakout role on The Bear! It’s a really in-depth interview, but what struck me most is how grounded she seems in her own evolving narrative (she just turned 30!) — I’m really excited to see her career unfold.

ENTERTAINMENT
I pored over Elle’s list of Breakthrough Performers of 2025! It’s always fun to be in the know when a new star skyrockets, and these actresses are well on their way. I didn’t recognize any of the names but did spot Judd Apatow and Leslie Mann’s daughter on the list! I thought this piece was a reminder that “rising star” isn’t just about fame — it’s about doing something that feels original. Definitely bookmarking a few names I want to follow more closely!
TRAVEL
Guys, the temperatures are finally dropping here in New York and I am so excited! I’m bookmarking this list of 10 great fall escapes from NYC to save for weekend getaway inspo. From upstate New York to Cape Cod, sometimes I forget how close New York is to so many fabulous spots. Some of the properties featured are seriously stunning! I’m trying to figure out if I can fit in a couple-night getaway between my move and Thanksgiving. Stay tuned!
HEALTH
While I’m not necessarily a health nut, I do try to do my best so that I can live a long healthy life. I really appreciated these tips on improving your brain health, an area of medicine/science I’m not super familiar with — it’s not just about memory games and supplements! Their tips include focusing on good sleep quality, the gut-brain connection, a balanced diet, and mental rest over constant busyness. As someone who juggles a million open computer tabs and an ever-growing list of to-dos, believe me I took note! Even fifteen extra minutes of winding down can be a tiny kindness to your brain.
SHADES OF GREY
With grey being a trending color for the fall season, when I spotted this leather jacket during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale in July I knew I had to have it. It’s definitely been my favorite #NSALE purchase this year, as I’ve already worn it SO much! The cut is more modern and streamlined than my other leather jackets, and the silver hardware makes it look even more sleek. You can’t see it in these photos, but be sure to peep the back for my favorite detail - the folded tailoring makes for an even more flattering look from the front and the back. Separately, I ordered these flats back in July as well, but while I was in Austin. I wasn’t even thinking about this jacket when I bought them and got them in the mail... but when I arrived back in New York last month I was surprised and delighted to find they are a perfect match! I wore this exact look in Sag Harbor, and then again in the city when my mom was here last weekend - see it here for a more accurate look at the colors.
While the above items are certainly more of a taupe-grey, you can find fifty shades of it (see what I did there) among the fall/winter collections this season. I’m particularly enamored with Toteme’s interpretation! They created outerwear, separates and shoes in this hue for a striking and unexpected head-to-toe look. SO chic! This jacket is especially high on my wish list!
See below for my favorites from Toteme’s collection and shop even more shades of grey after the collage:
