I’m so excited to bring back my Beck & Call newsletter! Long time subscribers will remember this Q&A newsletter, where I’d answer reader questions and provide styling suggestions for your real life events and everyday outfits - weddings, family photos, fundraisers, work functions - you name it, I answered it! The previous version of this newsletter was weekly, which after a while felt a little redundant as I would receive a lot of very similar questions and often felt like I was repeating myself. And because it was weekly and I had so much other work on my plate, I felt like I began phoning it in and just listing affiliate links to make quick work of it.
I’ve been wanting to bring that newsletter back, but with a renewed purpose and in a way that would be both manageable for me but more beneficial to you, the reader. Instead of doing it weekly, I will be selecting a few questions to answer on the first Sunday of each month. That way I can dedicate enough time to properly answer each question thoroughly, and provide the very best suggestions! In addition to rounding up recommendations for your particular event, I will also be creating collages to showcase how I might style the looks I’m suggesting.
I’d like for you to think of this monthly series as a one-on-one virtual styling session with me! If you have a question you’d like to submit for an upcoming Beck & Call newsletter, you can email me, DM me on Instagram or send a direct message to me here on Substack. Please keep in mind that these newsletters will only happen once a month, so send in questions far enough in advance for me to be able to answer it in time!
In order for me to answer your questions in the most comprehensive way, please include as many details as possible - consider the below when you are sending your question through:
When and where is the event? Time of year and climate are important! Be sure to provide the exact date so I know the deadline!
What is your budget?
Are there any silhouettes you prefer for your body type? Or styles you want me to avoid?
What size and body type are you? Are you tall or more petite? Are you looking for straight or plus sized items?
Now that we’ve gotten the logistics out of the way, let’s get into this month’s questions!
QUESTION
Can you share your take on some festive blazers that are not cropped? I’d love some longer blazers/jackets to camouflage the hips! I bough the darling red tweed jacket you recommended a couple of years ago, and have worn it a ton during past holidays, from Christmas to Valentine’s Day. I’m looking for that kind of thing for the upcoming holidays to wear with black velvet pants!
